With that in mind, we are seeking an all-star Recruiter who will help us hire excellent people to further Breakwater's mission. This person will work directly with the HR Manager and other department managers to source, assess, and onboard candidates who share Breakwater's values. They will be responsible for building pipelines to source great talent. This could include cultivating relationships with local colleges and universities, planning and executing in person and virtual hiring events, attending career fairs, and building our online recruiting presence. This person will conduct initial interviews and coordinate later round interviews for the hiring managers. Once a candidate is hired, the will be responsible for onboarding the employee, overseeing benefits administration, and ensuring organized and compliant records. The right candidate for this role should have 2-5 years of experience in a Recruiting role and/or be a recent graduate with a degree in HR or a related field.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Partner with managers to understand their teams’ talent needs and role expectations
- Prepare first drafts of job descriptions, questionnaires, and assessment tools; iterate the same based on feedback from hiring managers and HR Manager
- Develop recruiting pipelines (Job fairs, Indeed, LinkedIn, college campuses) to source the best candidates for each role
- Conduct initial interviews to weed out candidates who are not a fit, identify strengths and potential flags, and provide hiring managers with quality feedback for later round interviews
- Own the onboarding and offboarding process for new and departing employees including: medical benefits, state compliance, orientation, medical benefits, exit interviews
- Maintain compliant and well organized personnel files and company records, both electronic and physical
- Become an expert in various recruiting systems (LinkedIn, Wurk Applicant Tracking System, NJ Live), identify and execute improvement projects on the same
