ABOUT THE ROLE:
Growing Home is seeking a strategic, self-motivated, collaborative, and passionate Grant Writer to
identify and analyze funding opportunities and lead the development, writing, and submission of
grant proposals to government, corporate, and private funding agencies to support program
activities. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Analyze RFPs, funding, and grant opportunities to determine mission and program
alignment, strategic fit, and operational considerations to provide recommendations on
feasibility, opportunity, and risks.
  • Working with the Leadership Team and Program Leads, write compelling grant proposals,
funding proposals, and reports, ensuring timely submissions and achievement of budgeted
revenue goals in grants, government support, foundation, and corporate contributions.
  • With Chief Development Officer, develop a budget based on the pipeline of funding
opportunities and secured one- and multi-year donations, and initiate adjustments and
replacement processes in anticipation of rejections and/or in response to organizational
needs.
  • Serve as the lead in analysis of incoming funding opportunities and present summary of
viability, components, and operational considerations to Finance, Programs, and
Development toward informed and timely decision making.
  • Act as a thought partner with the Development Team to strategize on cultivation and
stewardship efforts, which may include site visits, yearlong engagement, design of
volunteer opportunities, and external networking events.
  • Maximize use of RE NXT database as an integrated daily working tool and ensure accurate
and timely entries of donor opportunities, cultivation, gifts, receipting, and management
information on interactions with corporations, grant funders and government entities, and
assigned portfolio.


ABOUT YOU:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in grant writing, sales, nonprofit fundraising, or a related
position.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Possess strategic thinking, problem solving, and project management skills.
  • Awareness of Denver-area major funders and local, state, and national grant procedures
preferred.
  • Proficient in using and maintaining donor management records in CRM. RE NXT preferred.
  • Passion for anti-poverty work and social justice.
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple, competing deadlines.
  • Desire to be a part of an innovative, fast-paced organization and Development work.

  • Competitive Pay: $50,000-$56,000

HOURS OF WORK AND LOCATION:

  • Hours of Work: This position is full-time, 40 hours a week. Work will generally be completed
Monday-Friday, between 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, with some evenings and weekends required
  • Location: Work will primarily be performed in the Growing Home offices, with some local
travel required. Dependent on job duties, hybrid work locations and schedule may be
permitted.
