Job Title: (R&D Technician, PD Project Manager) Location: Ogden, Utah
Department: R&D Status: Exempt
Reports to: VP Product Development Shift: Days
Job Overview
This candidate utilizes their personal experience in product formulation, food safety, and good
manufacturing and sanitation practices to provide tactical support to all departments, ensuring
NutraSelf products are formulated with the utmost quality.


Position Overview:
· Create dietary supplement formulation of beadlets, powders (flavoring), and
encapsulation.
· Perform benchtop experiments and create new product samples.
· Maintain an organized and clean lab space.
· Assist customers and provide them with necessary services pertaining to product
development.
· Manage projects and communication with internal and external customers.
· Work within set procedures to ensure production of quality products, as well as search
for cost reductions where possible.

They will help to ensure production schedule, standards, quality, sanitation, and safety, are key
elements to their day-to-day responsibilities. Working with fellow team members, learning, and
understanding quality, production, and sanitation principles to optimize production flow and
efficiency will be key. They must follow operational activities with the help of other personnel at all
levels that lead to outstanding operational performance.

Job Description
Main Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Meet all safety expectations including wearing the required personnel protective equipment,

           cGMP gowning garb and follow all safe practices.

  • Cross-training will occur throughout the facility in all aspects of high-speed manufacturing.
  •  Work with production and give technical support to assist with manufacturing our products following all production standard procedures (kitting, mixing/blending, beadlet manufacturing, encapsulating, packaging, boxing, and labeling of the product).
  •  Prepare and maintain materials and equipment at the start, during, and end of production.

Requirements and Skills:

  •  Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study, preferred
  •  Experience: 2-3 years in a R&D position, preferably for a Dietary Supplement manufacturing company.
  •  Other Required knowledge, skills & abilities: Label Review/creation, Formulation (capsule, beadlet, & flavoring powders).
  • Must possess good interpersonal and strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  •  Effective organizational, prioritization, and time management.
  •  Must have excellent attention to detail.
  •  Must possess a safe attitude at all times.
  •  Be reliable, motivated, organized and be able to work in a dynamic fast-paced team-driven environment.
  •  Have a commitment to Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making
  •  Punctual and reliable in work attendance
  •  Working Conditions: Loud environment with exposure to powder and heavy equipment in a manufacturing atmosphere
  •  18 years of age or older
  •  Ability to read and write legibly in English
  •  Willing to learn various work processes.
  •  Be able to work flexible hours and be willing to adapt to changes in orders and tasks.
  • Weekend work may be necessary on occasion.
  •  Able to handle the typical stress of meeting deadlines and achieving improved results.
  •  Ability to read, interpret and effectively communicate necessary policies and procedures to others.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  •  Ability to sit and stand for extended hours.
  •  Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours.
  •  Ability to lift 15 lbs.
  •  Ability to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and facemask.

Job Description:

  •  Must be able to work around a variation of different smells and aromas.
  •  Other physical requirements include bi-lateral hand and wrist movement and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting.
  •  Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
