Cloud Security Engineer 
Location: Bethesda, MD

With continued growth comes opportunity, and we are currently searching for a Cloud Security Engineer to support our Bethesda, MD office.

Position Description:
The engineer will provide expertise in the development and implementation of robust security practices within Cloud environments. This includes the development of a defined strategy to achieve the desired “to-be” state of cybersecurity within the multi-Cloud infrastructure by conducting in-depth “as is” assessments and providing recommendations to enhance security posture. Provide the necessary technical knowledge to effectively implement container and Kubernetes security best practices in operations. The technical environment includes Jenkins, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and other automation tools with deployment to hybrid Azure, AWS, and on-prem platforms.

Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in developing innovative service capabilities for Azure Cloud and in managing Azure capability projects.
- Work with business stakeholders and senior leaders to deliver on complex, enterprise-level initiatives that are a part of the company's overall strategic direction. Using the following skills to design and implement robust security practices within Cloud environments:
- Understand automation tools such as Chef, Jenkins, Git, or similar tools.
- Understand upgrading, installing, and configuring monitoring solutions for Azure for Windows and Linux servers.
- Understand firewalls, VPNs, and remote access to servers, based on different user roles and access requirements.
- Provision and maintain all servers using configuration management tools.
- Develop solutions using cloud services. Research into, and implementation of, new Azure tools to improve efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain end-to-end security ensuring best practices and ensuring the best practices are being used.
- Working knowledge of supporting IT infrastructure technologies and standards including software & hardware life cycle, system configuration policies, security, hardening, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, etc.
- Monitor and report to management on current and projected tasks.

Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field with minimum of 8 years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and appropriate technical certifications.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience supporting Azure cloud environments, developing and administering an IT operations environment, administering servers on Windows or Linux platforms, and implementing/improving Azure infrastructure processes.
- Minimum 3 years experience implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment as well as deploying and supporting workloads in Azure.
- Ability to communicate concerns clearly and effectively to other teams.
- Able to obtain a Government Public Trust Clearance.

Desired Certifications:
- Azure certifications
- CISSP, GPEN, GWAPT, OSCP, and/or other industry certification
- Delivering Infrastructure as Code using Azure.
- Cloud orchestration and automation tools.
- Providing continuous monitoring and support.
- Delivering solutions using Agile methodologies.
- Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills and scripting experience in Azure.
- Experience with the planning, configuration, optimization, and deployment of Microsoft Azure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, VMs, AD, Automation, Monitor, Backup/recovery, etc.).
- Expert knowledge of the latest security vulnerabilities, threats, attack surface, and remediation techniques.
- Expertise with browser security controls, application security standards such as OWASP ASVS/Top 10, CWE Top 25, and vulnerability handling and scoring with CVSS.
- Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security procedures
