Overview
GSE Systems, Inc. is looking for an experienced Revenue Accountant to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for reviewing and maintaining all company contracts along with working directly with the Revenue Manager on additional projects. A successful Revenue Accountant will demonstrate a strong attention to detail along with the ability to discover potential risks for our company. The ideal candidate will be excited to work directly with the Revenue Manager to ensure the integrity of our contract databases and assist on many ad-hoc projects. 

Essential Functions: 

• Review contract documents (Master Agreements, Purchase Orders, etc.) to assess revenue recognition treatment in compliance with ASC 606
• Complete new contract revenue checklists
• Manage monthly ETC meetings with Project Managers and Revenue Manager to asses cost budgets and revenue impacts
• Prepare revenue and cost general ledger entries
• Prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging
• Maintain contract folders in accordance with SOX requirements
• Assist in providing information for quarterly and year end close and audits
• Special Projects to be assigned as needed

 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of previous experience as a Revenue Accountant or related field
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel skills required)
• Strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with accounting principles and applications
• Strong analytical and time-management skills
• Self-motivated, takes initiative and has the ability to effectively organize, multi-task and prioritize a wide array of initiatives
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
• Experience with an Engineering, Software, Energy, or other familiar industries highly preferred
