The Manager, Contract Operations is responsible for managing the execution of GSK contracts for state government programs including resources, processes, policies, procedures, and tools to enable the contract execution process in a cost effective and efficient manner.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Contract discount payments are processed and communicated to customers accurately, on time, and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Negotiation and communication with customers to resolve disputed rebate payments.
  • Design and monitor appropriate financial controls to validate customer data, meet audit requirements and minimize GSK financial risk.
  • Compliance with federal and state government mandated pricing and contracting programs.
  • New contract strategies, acquisitions, divestitures, co-promotes or legislation are properly analyzed for operational and system impact and are successfully integrated into GSK contracting systems and processes.
  • Manage and motivate a team of analysts.
  • Monitor team performance against objectives and GSK behaviors using key performance indicators and provide career/development planning, coaching/feedback and workload evaluation and prioritization. Manage and empower teams to create a high performance culture with continuous improvement mindset.
  • Champion process measurement and monitoring initiatives to drive continuous improvement and customer focus for the contract implementation and fulfillment processes.
  • Manage and/or participate in special projects requested by senior management to support business growth and industry change (e.g., acquisitions, product divestitures, litigation support, implementation of new legislation). Provide input into development of business requirements for system changes and support the user acceptance testing for GSK contract systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships and budget for operational support.
  • Support GSK cash flow planning by working with Finance and Treasury on rebate payment planning.
  • Management of team members in both the US and Costa Rica

  • Bachelors degree
  • 3 years of market access experience

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience in Medicaid
  • State government contracting or government pricing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success as a team leader who drives compliance and continuous improvement to established process and procedures.
  • Experience leading initiatives that drive behavioral and cultural change while delivering on contracted process requirements.
  • Experience in contract strategy, contract operations, internal controls, and government pricing programs.
  • Project management, process improvement experience.
  • Proven ability to manage under pressure and in a changing environment.
  • Results oriented, self starter with the ability to drive accountability for results within the team.
  • High level of motivation and ability to find creative solutions to challenging business issues or unique customer situations.
  • Demonstrated multi-dimensional and complex problem solving skills (technology, people, processes).
  • Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly across multi-disciplinary teams to help implement new contract strategies, new businesses or new legislation.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
