Summary:
The Media Research Analyst will help strategically position GSTV to ad agencies and brand marketers by using data insights to develop sales materials, inform audience targeting, and measure campaign impact on business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary data/analytics support to the sales & marketing teams, using 1st and 3rd party data sources to fulfill daily ad hoc requests for:
    • Audience insights (demographic, geographic, behavioral)
    • Advertiser and category insights
    • Targeting recommendations & data
    • Campaign reach & frequency
    • Other sales & marketing collateral as needed
  • Contribute to miscellaneous data-related projects, including but not limited to:
    • Maintaining historical audience data and campaign measurement results
    • Proactively updating network data with external vendors
  • Assist in campaign measurement setup & reporting, to include:
    • Working with internal sellers, their clients, and external vendors to execute studies that demonstrate GSTV’s impact on specific campaign goals (lift in branding metrics, foot traffic, sales, etc.)
    • Maintaining and analyzing GSTV results across measurement vendors & KPIs
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Marketing, or other quantitatively-oriented field in business or social sciences
  • 1-3 years experience in a research or analytics role within media, advertising, marketing, or consulting
  • Strong quantitative & analytical skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently to complete tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel
  • Ability to learn & adapt quickly to new software systems
  • Ability to multi-task & prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Extra Qualifiers:
  • Foundational understanding of statistics and testing principles (e.g. test/control setup, statistical significance, sampling methods)
  • Foundational understanding of media math and terminology (TRPs, reach/frequency, impressions/ratings)
  • Awareness of the data landscape within the media industry – various sources and uses, recent changes to consumer data collection laws, etc.
  • Proficiency in SPSS or related software
  • Experience with geospatial analytic tools
  • Mac experience
  • Excellent presentation, writing & editing skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
