Software Developer

Come join our GTE Financial team! We are looking for an employee with technical expertise, with the ability to problem solve and provide support, to join as a Software Developer. The developer is responsible for supporting the SDLC, troubleshooting and maintenance, and production support. The developer works closely with the Senior Developer and Software Architect as a project resource and is responsible for translating business needs into outstanding software. The developer participates in creating new functionality, integrating and enhancing off-the-shelf and existing software, and maintaining existing systems. What does GTE look for in a Software Developer? Design: Research, design, and write software to specifications. Create outstanding code in all tiers: user interface, business logic, data access, and database. Develop high availability and highly scalable applications. Create prototypes and proof of concepts. Participate in and conduct code reviews. Design and create outstanding user experiences (UI/UX) that are tailored to the user experience, whether it be on the web or an app. Responsive and/or adaptive design creation and implementation Ensure solutions are released properly and the release is documented. Consult with management and review project proposals to determine goals, time frame, and procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources. Prepare project status reports and keep management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues. Operational: Create and maintain unit and functional tests. Monitor production applications for performance and defects. Troubleshoot production-related issues where our software is running. Timely and accurate completion of routine daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual support tasks. Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call support tree. Technical Skillset: Expertise (2-5 years) in the following: JavaScript frameworks (such as jQuery, VueJs, Angular, React, etc.) C#/.NET Visual Studio 2015 ASP.NET – WebForms and MVC HTML/HTML5 T-SQL CSS Team Foundation Server; source control and work item tracking. Integration with third-party APIs and SDKs. Experience in the following: Entity Framework SQL Server 2008 XML Web Services/Web API Object orientated programming and design patterns. Nice to Have: Oracle/PL SQL Cordova/Framework7 Java Android Studio/Xcode Familiarity with programming patterns and practices. Previous experience in the financial industry. Must demonstrate functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, and Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree obtained through a formal 4-year program at an accredited educational facility; may be waived with equivalent experience. 3 to 5 years of experience in the field. 1 years of programming or support of C# code. Microsoft developer certifications are a plus: MTA, MCAD, MCPD, MCSD, MCTS. Mobile development certifications are a plus. Position Details: Location: Downtown Tampa – GTE Headquarters Department Hours: Monday– Friday (8:00 am to 6:00 pm) // Saturday (9:00 am to 1:00 pm) Full-time hours are required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
