THE ROLE:
The Safety Officer will act as a liaison between business and roof laborers to ensure crews are safe and proper procedures are being followed on job sites. A solid candidate will be able to identify potential hazards and will encourage and implement a safe work environment on a regular basis. Our ideal candidate is a team player with attention to detail who will use employees' mistakes as training opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review physical, biological, and chemical workplace hazards
• Conduct safety and environmental audits
• Investigate health-and-safety-related complaints, spills of hazardous chemicals, outbreaks of diseases or poisonings, and workplace accidents
• Inspect workplaces to ensure that equipment, materials, and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or the general public
• Develop, implement and evaluate health and safety programs and strategies
• Provide consultation and deliver training programs to construction industry employers and employees on issues of workplace safety and (depending on the project) environmental protection
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
• Experience with LNI/OSHA a plus, specifically with Washington State labor and safety laws
• Construction/Roofing experience preferred
