Overview: Guerdon, LLC is seeking an experienced applicant for a Plumbing Supervisor position. The Plumbing Supervisor will take ownership of all modular plumbing projects. The Plumbing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the plumbing on each project is completed correctly to plan, to code, and on schedule. This position assumes complete responsibility for installation and repair of pipes, fittings, fixtures, and drainage systems. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities & Learned Skills:
- Provide supervision, leadership oversight, and associated responsibilities to the plumbing team.
- Assemble, install, or repair pipes, fittings, or fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems, according to specifications or plumbing codes
- Study building plans and working drawings to determine required work tools, equipment, materials, and sequence of installation
- Perform other administrative tasks including material ordering, inventory, work scheduling, and report preparation
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, insulation, valves, and associated items for HVAC hot and chilled water piping systems
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals and non-metals
- Join pipes together by use of screws, bolts, fittings, and solder
- Ensure:
- Requirements as specified by plans and the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
- Installations are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded
- Installations meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
- Complete plumbing systems from rough to trim finish
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures
- Test pipes by filling them with water or air and read gauges to determine if the system is working accurately
- Assist with plumbing estimates, as needed
- Work with design department on any design issues
Requirements:
- Must have 3-5 years’ experience as Licensed Journeyman Plumber
- Must have a current Journeyman license, Plumbing contractor license preferred
- Knowledge of applicable US Plumbing Codes and acceptable trade practices required
- Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required
- Compliance to all safety guidelines and procedures
- Ability to manage 10-15 plumbers at various levels of experience, including entry-level
- Proven ability to teach and mentor apprentice plumbers
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, and kneel.
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50Ibs.
- Moderately loud noise level.
