Job Summary
Conducts
diagnostic assessments, provides center based, home-based, or community based
therapy, maintaining a caseload of 8-18 children with complex communication and
developmental disorders at The Children's Center for children ages birth to 5. Provides
supervision to clinician assistants and university students and trains
parents/caregivers regularly as a part of intervention.
Primary
Job Duties:
- Provides intervention in collaboration with a team for a minimum of 10 children annually with moderate-severe communication and developmental disabilities in the center, home, and community based settings while supervising university students and clinician assistants.
- Conducts comprehensive assessments, participates in early intervention team, and completes reports including recommendations according to Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C and Part B programs. Assists with Child Find Activities.
- Maintains appropriate documentation for both Mississippi Department of Health and Mississippi Department of Education eligibility requirements and maintenance. Develop and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students on her/his caseload and works closely with First Steps to develop and maintain Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP).
- Determines need for Extended School Year (ESY) services alongside the team of providers and assists with ESY planning and implementation in the summer.
- Conducts conferences and workshops with colleagues, university students and parents/guardians of children served.
- Participates in fundraising and public awareness activities to bolster support for The Children's Center community and state-wide.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
