What You Will Do **:
Data Architecture & Design*
- Identifies organization-wide initiatives and makes recommendations for data warehouse growth and integration for the enterprise.
- Leads the overall design of the data warehouse and works to ensure performance objectives are met.
- Work with the development teams in the data modeling and database design of product and efficient SQL for fast application performance
- Extensive knowledge and high level of proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server required.
- Extensive familiarity with data management principles and best practices in order to properly store, migrate, and structure data for multiple applications
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical database models for data warehouse applications.
- Oversee the evolving architecture of the data warehousing environment, either changing existing data models or developing new models to support new or expanded data content.
Development, Testing & Implementation
- Assist in integrating current on-prem data to the cloud, as well as work with teams to migrate and upgrade databases successfully
- Comply with current Software Development Life Cycle process and transitioning to Agile /Scaled Agile Framework methodologies where applicable
- Work with Database Administrators to identify poor performance and develop alternatives to maintain performance and security of the collective database and data warehouse ecosystem.
- Assist in developing solutions for data quality issues discovered in data warehouse and products.
- Act as a technical resource to the data/application developers and reviews their work to ensure consistency and integration with existing warehouse structures.
- Plan and coordinate database and data warehouse unit and system tests monitor results and take corrective action. Coordinate scripts and commands for data manipulation.
- Participate with QA teams, coordinating the coding, testing, and implementation of complex programs and scripts to build and maintain data warehouse databases.
What You Will Need *:
- BS/BA degree . In lieu of degree 4 additional years of experience is required
- 8-10 year prior experience working either as a Database Administrator, Database Developer, Data Architect, or other data management related role
- 3-5 years minimum experience working on job related software platforms including Business Objects/Tableau/Power BI Products
- Extensive technical expertise with Database and Data Warehouse best practices, Microsoft SQL Server (Multiple versions) & other platforms
- Experience with ETL development and report writing
- Experience with Tableau, Business Objects, Power BI
- Ability to mentor and supervise other data design and management team members
- U.S. Citizen or Green card is required for the position. Candidate must successfully pass a Federal Background Investigation.
What Would Be Nice To Have *:
- Insurance (commercial or government) data knowledge
- Experience working with the USDA or other federal agencies desired, but not required
The annual salary range for this position is $130,200.00-$195,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
