JOB DESCRIPTION: CONSTRUCTION LABORER
SUMMARY: The Construction Laborer works, hands-on, in a variety of construction work. They help to build and maintain buildings and infrastructure. They also set up and clean work sites. They work in a variety of settings including: outdoors, indoors, at heights, or underground. A Construction Laborer must be physically fit and have the physical strength, agility, and endurance to perform 8-10 hours of physical labor, per day. Since much of this work involves lifting and repetitive movement, the Construction Laborer must have full range of motion, possess manual dexterity, and attention to detail & safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (other duties may be required)
- Read and follow directions
- Work quickly, productively and safely without error
- Consistently meet production goals as set by the Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager
- Consistently produce quality workmanship as judged by the Company
- Work the hours necessary to achieve the goals of the Company, including over-time
- Concentrate on tasks
- Understand and communicate information
- Perform the functions of the position in a safe manner in order to avoid personal injury, injury to others, or equipment damage
- Get to work consistently and on time, every work day
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Completed High School education required. 0-1 years’ experience working commercial construction projects is desirable.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be able to work well in all types of weather including heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.
- Ability to lift minimum of 50lbs
- Ability to meet and work within critical deadlines and under moderate pressure
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Bilingual in Spanish and English is not a requirement, but is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: OSHA 10 hour, minimum is preferred.
