WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Counselor is a professional exempt position responsible to provide intensive home based individual and family counseling. The Counselor will provide linkage to formal (community providers) and informal (family, friends, neighbors, church, school, etc.) resources to clients involved with the Hillsborough/Pasco Sheriffs Office to ensure child safety needs are met in conjunction with provision of family strengthening.
- Conduct home based counseling session with parents, caretakers, at-risk children, their families, and extended support networks.
- Provide information, referral and follow-up for appropriate ancillary community counseling, psychiatric services, financial, employment, parenting, housing, and other services as deemed appropriate to meet family needs.
- Keep accurate record of all activities, including the documentation of all phone calls and linkage with community support, as well as home visits.
- Create a Comprehensive Family Assessment/Biopsychosocial in AVATAR with the family (and formal and informal supports when these extended supports are available) to address the issues, which have brought the family to the Hillsborough/Pasco County Sheriffs Office attention, and which have contributed to the familys need for interventions from the program.
- Create and monitor Family Meeting Plan, which lays out the specific goals, interventions, and parties responsible for the process to attain the necessary means for the identified need to be met.
- Create an advocacy relationship with the client in order that their needs are met by other systems, which they are involved with to include but not to be limited to, the Child Welfare System, the School System, the Economic Self Sufficiency System, Employment and Housing Systems.
- Maintain client records that are timely and include detailed quality information, as well as meet performance standards as outlined by the Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services policy and procedure.
- Must ensure concise and timely completion of all documentation, according to contract requirements, including entering all case activities into the Florida Safe Families Network within two (2) business days.
- Assist in program planning and community outreach, training, and development of resources for the program clients.
- To ensure all outcome measurements are satisfied per the contract requirements.
- Attend supervision with Program Director and/or Licensed Counselor on every case.
- To participate in monthly staff meetings and peer audits with Program Director and staff.
- To support the development of Graduate Level interns and their university requirements in order to increase program services to clients.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- A Masters Level Counselor and at least two (2) years of experience providing direct services to children, youth, or their families.
- Registered interns for Licensure in Social Work and Counseling preferred.
- Must have a valid drivers' license and auto insurance.
