GCSM is looking for an experienced accountant to join their team in their Jonesville office. This position works directly with the Manager of Accounting and Finance & is an in office position. This is a professional accounting position and the successful candidate will be responsible for general accounting functions including calculating and posting journal entries, preparing or updating reports & analyses, reconciling accounts and assisting with period end closings to produce financial statements. This position also provides support to their manager in relation to other general responsibilities of the Finance department and ad hoc requests.
The position requires good communication, sound judgment and analytical skills. This position interacts with all levels of the organization. It is important to have strong excel skills, attention to detail, and to be a team player.
Gulf Coast Supply & Manufacturing, LLC (GCSM) is a privately-owned company with 140 plus employees in five locations across Florida, Alabama and South Carolina. GCSM manufactures various profiles of metal roofing and trim, with a primary focus on the residential re-roof market generating over $55 million in annual revenue.
Essential Duties Responsibilities
1. Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly financial statements to summarize the company’s financial status.
2. Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.
3. Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and upper management.
4. Assists with preparations for audits.
5. Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
6. Enters journal & cash book entries as necessary.
7. Reconciles various general ledger and balance sheet accounts monthly, quarterly and yearly.
8. Reconciles bank accounts monthly.
9. Maintains Asset Registry and Construction-In-Progress with additions, disposals, and depreciation.
10. Performs routine system maintenance weekly and as-needed as well as month-end system closing processes.
11. Assists in Payroll functions and backup for payroll coordinator.
12. Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field.
· At least 3 years’ experience in accounting.

Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, & Word - experience with Quick-Books and SYSPRO software a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail oriented and highly organized
Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
Excellent critical thinking skills
Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
