Job Description
Gunderson Dettmer has an opening for a full-time Brand Communications Specialist. The role will be based in one of the Firm’s California offices (Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, or San Francisco). Currently, we are working remotely and will be required until our offices fully reopen. In this role, you will support and operationalize Gunderson’s brand strategy in a highly collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. As a member of the Marketing team responsible for showcasing why clients and talent should join our venture-focused law firm, you will work in close partnership with Communications, Talent Development, HR, and Diversity leaders. Your support will ensures our teams are sharing compelling messages that demonstrate why Gunderson is the top choice for entrepreneurs, venture investors, executives and professionals.
Job Responsibilities
- Build partnerships across department leaders and the Gunderson marketing team to support high-impact marketing strategies and processes that bridge marketing, brand, recruitment, client, and talent programs.
- Serve as an integral part of the brand communications team by assisting in the execution of strategic initiatives, logistics planning, and marketing program management and coordination.
- Handle internal stakeholder interactions including coordination for key programs, administration of marketing and branding technologies and platforms, and coordination between Marketing and other business leaders.
- Identify and create opportunities that will enhance the Gunderson experience.
- Support and drive projects to ensure processes, systems, tools, and communication are current and consistent across functions.
- Advise and consult with leaders and cross-functional partners to develop and operationalize programs to achieve specific business outcomes.
- Enable successful execution of marketing initiatives and cross-department requests through effective project and process management; ensure desired outcomes are clear, key milestones are identified and aligned to, and that the initiatives are value-added to the business.
- Listen and ask questions to solicit feedback to understand needs and provide service.
Who You Are
- Deliver high-quality and detailed work, demonstrate operational excellence and ensure quality and integrity in everything you do.
- Have intermediate skills in working with creative professionals.
- Continuous learner and possess an organizational savviness to build relationships across a matrixed organization, understand the business needs and deliver results.
- Strong proficiency with the creative design process, PowerPoint, and other workflow management systems.
- Research process or transaction flow to identify the root cause of errors.
- Is a problem solver, who owns tasks, through to completion, including any required preparation, research, or follow-up.
- Program or Project Management experience is a plus.
Job Requirements
- 4-8 years of experience in the legal or professional services industry
- Strong writing skills with proof of writing sample
- 2 years project management experience
- High proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field
Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
