POSITION SUMMARY
The Master Data Analyst with Gypsum Management and Supply, Inc. is a strategic business facing role that will work with cross functional teams across all of GMS to help implement a framework for data governance and standardization. This role will engage with business functions in our HQ location as well as our field leadership teams to understand business goals and define data and process requirements to achieve those goals. Working with internal technology teams to establish standards and automation, where possible, to maintain data integrity and one version of the truth across the enterprise.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Help develop and implement the master data governance framework, with a focus on improving data quality through modifications to behaviors, business processes, policies, standards, and metrics.
- Assist in cleansing data records that do not comply with established standards to ensure quality of master data.
- Be responsible for troubleshooting data issues and determining causes/solutions.
- Proactively monitor and report on processes critical to MDM data integrity in order to facilitate accountability.
- Partner with business and IT teams to coordinate cross-functional data needs and translate them into master data designs.
- Assist in building management and executive support for required changes to achieve MDM goals and requirements.
- Participate in M&A activities to assess the impact of master data standards on the integration process for specified domain.
- Maintain ongoing data stewardship across end-to-end processes after the initial implementation of data governance process and systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in Data cleansing, Data standardization, Data Governance, and Business Process Analysis
- Strong foundation SQL, Digital Catalog, and MDM processes
- Demonstrate functional understanding of key processes creating or consuming data within all governed domains and the ability to determine the interrelationships and usage across the enterprise.
- Ability to work with vendors to facilitate cooperation of data feeds to achieve MDM goals.
- Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skillsets.
- Ability to think strategically while operating tactically to implement global data standards and global technical/process solutions
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally in a matrix structure and influencing peers and stakeholders
- Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues while addressing root cause issues and preventing repeated issues.
- Experience with ERP implementations, data mapping, cleansing, and migration management
- Strong communication skills and ability to deliver a common message tailored to the specific audience.
