Overview:
The Production Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the cement production process, ensuring efficient and effective production while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
- Plan, organize, and oversee the cement production process from raw material handling to final product dispatch.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resources and minimizing costs.
- Monitor production metrics and adjust processes to ensure efficiency and product quality.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, including operators, technicians, and supervisors.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications throughout the production process.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance department to address any non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Lead incident investigations and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Partner with safety to promote NCC policy and MSHA regulation compliance.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and track their impact on production performance.
- Develop and manage the production budget, including labor, materials, and maintenance costs.
- Monitor and control production expenses to achieve financial targets.
- Collaborate with the procurement department to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and supplies.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- A master’s degree is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role within the cement plant.
- 3 years Supervisory
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
