JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire quality function. With a focus on establishing department policies, controlling processes and programs and exercising judgement in dealing with unique situations, this position will design, install and evaluate process control plans, sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques. In addition, the Quality Manager will collaborate with multiple areas of the business and lead the organization in the successful achievement of activities that support the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
5 years of work experience in a manufacturing or similar work environment
Previous supervisory experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CQE or CQI highly desired.
Previous experience leading ISO Audit function
Experience with LEAN and Six Sigma manufacturing principles
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Oversee the policies and procedures that ensure quality and consistency in our products and processes.
Administer the ISO 9001 QMS program.
Direct and supervise Quality team members.
Ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and customer/regulatory requirements.
Conduct internal audits at all levels and processes in the organization to insure QMS compliance and to evaluate areas for continual improvement.
Train and evaluate Quality team members to ensure efficient and effective quality procedures and practices are followed.
Participate in and help develop training to continually promote quality ideals and principles across the organization.
Work directly with internal and external customers to analyze failure, initiate containment action and implement corrective and preventive action for timely response and closure of customer complaints.
Identify and report process variations and/or discrepancy trends/processes in producing non- conforming articles and assure corrective action has been accomplished to eliminate product, process or systemic non-conformities.
Work with Engineering to write and optimize Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP's) to continually meet customer requirements while simultaneously ensuring that business and production interests are maintained.
Perform PPAPs.
Evaluate and propose improved control plans and inspection techniques to increase efficiency and accuracy of inspection processes using advanced knowledge of quality inspection tools and quality inspection techniques.
Ensure new products transferred to production are manufactured in accordance with approved product and process criteria.
Develop Key Process Indicators (KPI's), Statistical Process Charts (SPC's) and other data and drive continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system at all levels within the organization.
Identify, interpret, and apply problem-solving tools, such as root cause analysis, the six-sigma model (DMAIC), lean tools, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) methods.
Identify and interpret various statistical methods including basic process control, (measures of central tendency - mean, median, and mode - and dispersion, such as standard deviation and frequency distribution) process capability indices, such as Cp and Cpk.

LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE: This position has a high degree of autonomy and reports directly to the Director of Operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk and hear. Must use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop and reach above shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds on occasion. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
