The Opportunity
We're looking to hire an Apprentice Carpenter / Journeyman that will be responsible for assisting in the installing, repairing, sanding, and finishing wood floors.
Responsibilities
- Assist in Cut, shape and assemble wood, using shop tools and equipment such as planers, jointers, shaper, routers, sanders, and various power saws.
- Assemble prepared components for wood flooring projects; athletic, commercial, and residential flooring.
- Assist in preparing finish applications by installing, repairing, standing, and finishing wood floors.
- Read and interpret plans, sketches, and shop drawings.
- Maintain and clean equipment and work area.

- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Prior experience and success in the assembly and installation, repair, sand and finish of wood flooring experience is required.
- Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner.
- Ability to communicate well with project manager and supervisors.
- Foster positive teamwork relationships
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and physical exam
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Stand or walk for 8 hours.
- Must have ability to lift both arms overhead.
- Must possess keen vision and hearing.
- Ability to work outdoors, indoors in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places and in excavated areas.
- Must be able to climb a ladder, scaffolding and stairs.
- Must be able to kneel, stoop and squat often.
- Ability to swing a hammer.
- Arm, hand & finger dexterity with both hands involved in activities such as reaching, handling and feeling.
- Ability to use hands and power tools.
- May work around chemicals, near grinding and torching, and near cranes and moving equipment.
- Will work in close contact with other people.
