The ACLS Instructor conducts training and education at the basic and advanced life support level in concert with the overall mission of the EMS training center. Provides logistical support for on-site and off-site courses, supports EMS training Center leadership through clerical and operational functions in addition to teaching courses.
A day in the life of an ACLS Instructor at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
1. Able to conduct training and education at the basic and advanced life support level in concert with overall mission of EMS training center
2. Provides logistics support for onsite and offsite course offerings
3. Supports EMS training center leadership through clerical and operational functions in addition to teaching courses
4. Needs to maintain EMS/Healthcare (RN, PA, Physician) certification and BLS/ACLS Instructor
5. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
6. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
7. Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 25 lbs. and stands a minimum of 3 hours a day.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. A minimum of 2 years of Healthcare experience as a provider
2. Must possess basic computer skills, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. Minimum of 1-year Instructor experience.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. Registered Nurse with Critical Care Experience; or, Physician; or, Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Certification (MICP); or, Mobile Intensive Care Nurse Certification (MICN)
2. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Provider and Instructor (American Heart Association CPR-BLS)
3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification Provider and Instructor (American Heart Association ACLS)
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
1. Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor Certification
