What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at Haley Buick GMC Airport?
The Cashier receives and processes payments for services rendered or parts and materials purchased. In addition, he or she explains vehicle service recommendations to customers, prints out and writes up estimates and invoices, and accepts payment using electronic point-of-sale equipment and/or credit/debit payment media. The Cashier must use the appropriate software programs to record payment amounts and repair orders and to manage customer data, such as service history, parts purchased, and contact information. In addition, he or she may need to calculate materials charges, repair charges, and taxes and must understand various types of warranties.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year money-handling experience (in this or another industry). He or she is detail-oriented and good with numbers, has a working knowledge of the industry, has strong administrative and organizational skills, and has exceptional interpersonal skills. Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
