Lowboy Driver

Halifax Paving, family-owned and operated since 1955, has a proven track record of providing high-quality asphalt and site work services in the Eastern/Northern Central Florida areas. We are currently seeking an experienced Lowboy Transport Driver to join our team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Driver uses best practices to ensure proper and safe loading, unloading, securing, and transporting of heavy construction and paving equipment.
• Works with Supervisors and Dispatch to coordinate heavy equipment relocations from job site to job site and/or to the yard.
• Completes thorough load check inspections before each departure, ensuring that load is secured and truck is in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Complies with all regulatory agency and company safety directives.
• Accurately completes company documentation.
• Obeys all traffic laws and weight limits.
• Effectively operate vehicle and equipment in adverse weather conditions.
• Keeps tractor and trailer clean and in good working condition.
• Perform daily maintenance checks and reports malfunctions to supervisor and mechanics.
• Job requires manual labor including climbing, lifting, and operating tie-down chain binders.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• At least 3 years of verifiable experience transporting heavy construction equipment.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL and clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
• Must pass DOT physical and drug screen.
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations.
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards.
• Must by willing to work overtime and occasional weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
