Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to organize and maintain Seafood products (stock items) to ensure proper date rotation and proper assembly of orders.
Job Functions:
- Perform a detailed pre-operational inspection to ensure proper cleanliness and compliance with the USDA.
- Ensure proper rotation of products using first in, first out method (FIFO).
- Receive and fill pull tickets.
- Pull product and assemble for prep.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of items and be able to communicate with cutting supervisors, dock supervisors and order assembly associates product needs and availability.
- Participate in month-end inventories.
- Assist in quick process or will calls.
- Help warehouse/dock as needed.
Qualifications:
- Prefer a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Skills Needed:
- The individual must be able to work well alone, but also communicate effectively to identify and explain problems
- Detail oriented.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be quick and agile.
- Physically able to lift 10-30 lbs. repeatedly.
- Familiar with cut tickets and able to learn and retain item codes.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions to determine weight calculations and perform inventories.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to work until the job is completed.
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out simple instructions.
- Must have good attendance.
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
Physical strength to lift and maneuver 50-60 pounds. Standing, stooping and climbing are regular activities for this employee. Employees must have the ability to negotiate throughout the production and warehouse areas unassisted without disrupting regular production and warehousing activities. Normal levels of eyesight color vision, and hearing after correction, are required. The ability to touch, feel, manipulate fingers and limbs to operate various processing and material handling equipment is necessary. The ability to smell is required, in order to detect levels of wholesomeness and spoilage.

This position requires the candidate to be in refrigerated and freezer locations, as well as the warehouse environment. These areas are cold and wet and exposure to moving machinery and sharp surfaces are a regular occurrence. This is a high noise area.
