Photo Assistant

We are accepting applications for a part time seasonal photographer's assistant. No photography assistant experience is required.

This position is seasonal, Fall (August through November). School Picture days include working early mornings until afternoon/evening with paperwork or other office tasks. Sports Picture days include working afternoons and or evenings Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays.

Job responsibilities:

• Working in a team environment with co-workers. Setting up/lifting equipment up to 30 pounds. Traveling with a photographer to schools or sports locations within a 2 hour radius of Iowa City, to assist in doing paperwork for school portraits or sports individuals and team photos for children K-12. At the end of each photo assignment, photographers and assistants will do office work and other tasks, at our office. There will be office work available to do at home also.

Requirements for this Photographer's Assistant position:

• Able to work in a fast, high-paced, or high pressure environment and enjoy working with children in a school or sports photo day environment.
• Dependable, on time or early to photo day assignments.
• Must be able to be on call, if someone is sick you may have to take their place at a school photo day.

• Must be located within 20 minutes of Iowa City.
• Traveling to photo day locations within a 2 hour radius of Iowa City. Mileage is paid for out of town driving.
• Must have an insured, reliable transportation; a valid drivers license to arrive at photo day locations.
• Mobile phone friendly: Must have a phone with the ability to download an app for viewing work schedules, and being responsible for clock-in/out of shifts.
