• Summary:
• Responsible for the placement and expediting of Purchase Orders for materials and services to support HDI manufacturing and Regional Projects with minimal direction and guidance for routine, lower dollar purchases and increasing advice, guidance and direction for more complex, higher dollar commitments.
• Essential Functions:
• Collect the technical requirements for bid, add commercial requirements, select potential suppliers for routine buys and participate in same for those more complex; solicit supplier quotations.
• · Ensure timely submittal of supplier proposals; prepare clear, concise, commercial bid summary.
• · Lead evaluation & supplier recommendation process. Include areas of concern or potential risk and propose how these will be mitigated or otherwise addressed.
• · Negotiate specific commercial content with giver supplier(s) including those for price, delivery, technical compliance etc. as well as general boilerplate terms & conditions (as guided by senior procurement & legal as required), ensuring compliance with project requirements and cost savings targets.
• · Issue Purchase Order in ERP system, JD Edwards, accurately reflecting requirements and terms as agreed, as well as correct job cost accounting. Ensure supplier signed/accepted purchase order is submitted.
• · Manage purchase order including communications with supplier regarding on time delivery of documentation and material/equipment; address commercial issues that may arise; coordinate/ensure timely response for more complex technical issues.
• · Perform ongoing communication with relevant internal stakeholders, including areas of potential concern, to ensure successful execution.
• · Monitor supplier performance and complete supplier evaluation.
• · Track and report procurement metrics & KPI’s including those for savings from budget, on-time delivery, and cash out efficiency as a result of favorable payment terms.
• · Participate in the supplier qualification process in accordance with Group Procedures.
• · Seek and present opportunities for frame agreements with suppliers.

• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Prior experience and training in negotiation.
• Learn, understand and effectively use purchasing and other software including JD Edwards, MS Office, MS Outlook and MRP systems.
• Rudimentary understanding of boiler system components a plus.
• Technical aptitude to understand fundamental technical drawings, documents, and specification.
