What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Hampden County Sheriff's Office?
The Hampden County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a highly motivated and energetic full-time Medical Assistant who will be a team player responsible for assisting the nursing staff in the Hampden County Sheriff's facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing intake assessments (medical and mental health history, phlebotomy, etc.); exercising universal precautions and providing dressing changes under the guidance of the staff nurse; taking vital signs and preparing patients for medical evaluation; providing first aid; maintaining adequate supplies; keeping complete, accurate records and data; filing; and, following training, overseeing patients’ self-administration of medications.
Work schedule: Must be able to work any shift as directed; the current assignment is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
