Room Attendant Job Description
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Directly Reports to: Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor
Job Overview
Room Attendants are responsible for cleaning and preparing rooms for our overnight guests. A well prepared room that is clean, fully stocked, and in good working order allows us to deliver on an exceptional experience for our guests. Additionally, Room Attendants contribute to the overall safety and security of the hotel by reporting damage, following safety rules, and assisting in emergency situations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare guest rooms. responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Picking up and removing trash - Changing linen and making the bed - Cleaning entire bathroom - Sweeping, vacuuming and dusting guest room - Cleaning windows and mirrors
- Retrieve, stock, restock and store the housekeeping cart
- Respond to guest inquires and requests as appropriate
- Report any damage, mechanical problems, or missing room equipment/items
- Promptly turn in found items with documentation to Lost and Found
- Participate in deep cleaning programs as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to successfully complete tasks in prescribed timeframe
- Ability to work alone to clean all zones of the guest room/suite with an even temperament
- Effectively communicate with our guests
- Good eye for detail

Work Environment
This job operates in a hotel environment, the majority of the work is performed in guest rooms and public space areas. Requires the use of cleaning tools and equipment, cleaning chemicals and manual labor to deliver clean and ready rooms.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Constant physical movement is involved in performing the duties and tasks of a Room Attendant. Frequently position self to clean all zones of the guest room such as the floor, under the bed, behind furniture, and high and low bathroom fixtures throughout the work shift is required. Mental Demands
