What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audiology Technician position at Hampton Roads ENT & Allergy?
Primary Function: The Audiology/Hearing Aid technician provides clerical and administrative support to the Audiologists.
Core Functions and Competencies:
- Perform vestibular testing on patients under the direct supervision of the audiologist.
- Schedule patient for vestibular testing, audios and HA needs.
- Answering patient questions in-person or via phone regarding hearing aids.
- Troubleshoots hearing aids, cleans and checks hearing aids.
- Sends in hearing aid orders and repairs.
- Checks in new and/or repaired hearing aids and processes repairs, including payments.
- Installs software updates as needed.
- Calls patients to schedule appointments to pick up their hearing aids
- Orders and stocks hearing aid office supplies, batteries, inventory of HA repair items.
- Completes HA paperwork as needed.
- Contacts DHL, UPS or FedEx to schedule pickups of hearing aid packages.
- Provides post-care instructions to patients at fitting.
- Cleans and maintains all audio and hearing aid equipment and accessories on a regular basis.
- Finalizes all purchase agreements for hearing aid sales.
- Obtains insurance benefits for hearing aids.
- Document and track hearing aid sales in Excel.
- Attends continuing education as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
