We are seeking a high-energy, professional individual to join our team as the Event Sales Manager for Glenwood Canyon Resort. This person must be trustworthy, committed to providing the ultimate experience for our guests, and have a keen eye for the little details. Our company has been growing rapidly and the right individual for this role is very organized, great with people, and comfortable with shifting priorities.
The Event Sales Manager sells and markets Glenwood Canyon Resort as a venue for special events, such as weddings, corporate retreats, and reunions. This person is responsible for account management, business development, and sales prospecting to generate business and develop relationships.
Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
- Meet potential clients, negotiate and sell weddings, corporate events and social functions
- Establish clear expectations of the facility services, menu offerings and amenities to the guest
- Actively up-sell each sale opportunity to maximize revenue for the property
- Drive customer loyalty through excellent customer service throughout the sales process. Serve the client by understanding their individual needs and recommending appropriate services and products to meet those needs
- Understand and utilize the company marketing plan to initiate and target new business
- Maintain follow up and lead procedures throughout the sales process
- Work directly with clients preceding the event and be available for any need pertaining to the event, such as menu, vendors, floor plans, times, miscellaneous items, etc.
- Understand the overall market, including competitor’s strengths and weaknesses, and how to gain client business
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales and transactions
- Must be knowledgeable of the event contractual agreement and the legal implications
- Responsible for initial deposit and contract agreement with clients
- Participate in area food tasting events, bridal shows, and networking opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Proven track record of sales success in Hospitality and Food and Beverage.
- Minimum five years’ experience in hotel or resort hospitality, with an eye for providing an exceptional guest experience
- Minimum three years’ experience in an event sales and marketing role, to include weddings, corporate events, social functions, etc.
- Well organized, detail oriented, and deadline driven
- Creative and quick to pivot and think outside the box when challenges arise
- Driven, results-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset
- Extensive efficiency using MS Office and Google Suite
- Reliable, ethical, trustworthy, and high-energy
The ideal candidate for this role will be located in or able to reliably commute to Glenwood Springs, CO.
The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000 annually, plus commission. Benefits include, but are not limited to health insurance, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off. Days and hours will vary depending on resort needs and event schedules.
