Director of Warehousing & Logistics

We are seeking a Director of Warehousing & Logistics to manage a $6M government contract. Our operations involve inbound and outbound shipments to our warehouse daily as well as daily management of assets. The ideal candidate will be very process oriented, a dedicated team player and able to step into managing a proprietary inventory program right away.

Director of Warehousing & Logistics Job duties and responsibilities

• Create and manage receiving, warehousing, and distribution processes and procedures, and confirm staff compliance
• Conduct physical counts of products and reconcile with data to maintain adequate inventory levels

• Recruit, hire, and train new warehouse employees
• Oversee all warehouse employees, including creating schedules, providing coaching, and mentoring, and issuing corrective action when required
• Communicate and coordinate with the logistics teams on scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Review timeliness of scheduled deliveries.
• Order new supplies in a timely manner
• Continually work to improve processes
• Optimize employee workflow
• Determine and track most important warehouse KPIs
• Ensure that facility and the facilities equipment is properly maintained.
• Communicate and collaborate with other team members

Director of Warehousing & Logistics Job requirements and qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt—strongly preferred but not necessary; Candidate will need to work toward getting certified within first 6 months
• Forklift Operation Certification—strongly preferred but not necessary
• 4-6 years of experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar role OR College degree in related field
• Knowledge and experience with methods for process re-engineering.
• Ability to manage inventory using proprietary WMS Software
• Ability to analyze data and provide insights from data
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Excellent time-management skills a must
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

***Candidate must be able to pass a government background check upon acceptance of offer.

****This position directly supervises 3-6 employees and reports to the VP of Capital Equipment

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
