Hardware Architect
Sunnyvale, CA – Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Establishes policies and procedures by working closely with customer contact points and ensure high-quality hardware validation outcomes.
- Should be able to guide a team to define and improve test strategies, plans, required validation processes, and KPIs.
- Ability to review test cases and test outcomes, and guide team to make testing more effective.
- Own product KPIs and drive testing towards them.
- Guide junior technical architects on strategy as well as other technical aspects.
- Review the progress and identify corrective actions.
- Oversee all aspects of hardware engineering and validation activities within a customer account.
- Helping in identifying and introducing critical process and hygiene steps.
- Guiding the team in defining the automation strategies and defining achievable outcomes.
- Review and analyze verification results to provide support in root causing and corrective action.
- Provide proactive feedback to various streams of product validation.
- Work alongside and interface with Customers (as required), internal stakeholders, and Engineering/Delivery Team on System validation requirements and presenting capability and solutions to stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in small form factor Consumer Electronics (or portable CE devices, consumer Medical devices) products, preferably in wearable devices.
- Experience with architecture and systems engineering across electrical, firmware, audio and optical systems.
- Experience integrating and delivering one or more of these technologies: displays, silicon, sensors.
- Should be able to cut across all engineering streams across product lines and formulate strategic plans.
- Experience in building products as architect for the entire life cycle (from concept, through commercialization, to production maintenance).
- Should be able to visualize on HW and SW system model on products that are zero to one.
- Should be able to define the testing strategies and guide team on testing products with no reference model.
- Should be able to apply past experiences / intuitions on how to build and test products with no reference model.
- Expects to be highly technical with operational knowledge on technically managing product.
- Should have worked in bottoms up culture.
- Communication experience working with Product Development engineers, Product Managers and other hardware/software cross-functional teams.
- Should be able to analyze issues strategically across product lines as well as tactically as needed.
- Experience in defining technical-operations steps to move work across geographies.
- Should be able to provide value propositions to improve efficiencies at Technical and operational processes.
- Should have experience in Platform/BSP testing, Boot Loaders testing, product bring up cycle exposure.
- Experience in overseeing validation programs of devices with Connectivity (WiFi/BT/BLE), Camera, Audio, and Display features will be an added benefit.
- Good understanding of software stack from BIOS/FW through OS driver, experience with testing of device drivers in Android/Linux.
- Knowledge and experience in Android OS. Should have good knowledge in Android Kernel customization and adb.
- Should be capable of implementing debugging setup in Android platform and defining corrective actions.
- Quick, responsive and fast learner, Keen interest in studying new technologies rapidly and execute them.
- Responsible for quality planning, effort optimization, defect prevention, defect prioritization, root cause analysis of testing.
- Experience in requirement analysis, test estimation, reviewing test plans and strategy.
- Experience in functional requirements reviews with product management and marketing teams.
- Knowledge in QA process and standards to improve the product quality for the organization..
- Should have excellent interpersonal and customer relational Skills.
Education
- MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering other related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 12 years of Hardware Experience in Product development/testing with demonstration of using new technologies.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Wearable / Small form factor consumer electronics products.

Salary: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
