What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Procurement Manager (Onsite - Local candidate to Nashville, TN) position at Hanker Systems?
JOB PURPOSE:
To lead, plan and implement the strategic direction and supplier management for the assigned KMS (Key Material Streams). To assist in reducing the total cost of ownership to LP manufacturing facilities over the long run and to measure the value of implemented programs. To assist in the direction setting of the Supply Management Department through participation on the Supply Management Core Team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement policies and practices throughout the corporation.
- Contract negotiation, implementation and monitoring for all applicable KMS
- Implement vendor consolidation policies and develop improved purchasing systems to reduce overall costs.
- Leverage buying capabilities through coordination of purchases and development of partnerships and alliances with key vendors at a corporate level.
- Develop and maintain short and long term strategies for the assigned KMS.
- Work with Supply Management staff to insure that the defined strategies and the Supply Management Six Step business process are followed.
- Insure that our procurement activities and supplier interactions work with developed strategies.
- Develop and maintain key vendor relationships.
- Work with management teams in facilitating quality issues and value added programs.
- Direct, monitor and track supplier performance.
- Supervise staff: hire, train and complete performance evaluations.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Responsible for the overall management of KMS, which may include the following:
MRO/Consumables
- Develop, implement and maintain short term and long term strategies for MRO/Consumables.
- Work closely with maintenance and manufacturing personnel to ensure the needs of the corporation are being met at the lowest possible total cost of ownership.
- Work with suppliers to develop reporting mechanisms to track progress of implemented programs.
Inventory
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and best practices for the management and optimization of manufacturing inventories.
- Work closely with manufacturing sites to minimize the volume of slow moving and obsolete inventories at LP facilities.
- Work closely with Financial Services Group and Tax Department regarding expense vs. inventory regulations for both book and tax purposes.
- Develop reporting mechanisms to track progress of implemented programs.
- Gain full understanding of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software that is utilized for work order processing and storeroom inventory management in our manufacturing environment. Be able to assist with training regarding utilization of software.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field required.
Experience:
- 7 years’ demonstrated procurement/supply management & Supply Chain Management experience.
- 3 - 5 years' demonstrated supervisory and management experience.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office environment.
- Moderate to heavy travel required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $56,172.47 - $120,000.00 per year
