PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for retail store operations during the evening hours making decisions impacting store associates, merchandise quality and presentation and the level of service offered to our customers. Role model our cultural behaviors and ensure conditions involving security, safety, and food safety are consistently maintained at the highest levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect. Provide recognition of accomplishments and offer constructive counseling when necessary.
• Understand the use of company tools such as; MPP, financial reports, scheduling, ordering and business information systems.
• Maintain effective work schedules to meet production and customer service standards as well as associates’ needs.
• Understand the potential causes and means for resolving and limiting inventory shrink issues in the store.
• Train and develop grocery associates to meet the department needs.
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed as outlined.
• Treat all store information as strictly confidential.
• Ensure that proper control of all store funds and company assets are maintained.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong understanding of store operations and Store Merchandising Techniques preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, customer service, communications, and organizational skills.
• Desire and ability to lead and support a team.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Ability and availability to work evening shifts.
• Must meet minimum age requirements (minimum of 21 years old).
• A high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functions.
• Lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, including overhead lifting, and up to 60 lb. occasionally. Push/pull up to 40 lb. regularly.
• Meet established volume and fixed activity standards.
• Stand or walk 100% of the time.
• Frequent reaching, grasping and lifting individual stock items below waist level or above shoulder level.
• Frequent bending.
• Ability to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packing materials and food products.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment to retain associates and customers.
• Role model outstanding friendly customer service.
• Responsible for Grocery Department when either the Assistant Store Manager or Grocery Manager is absent.
• Responsible for the overall operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Ensure the maintenance of the store’s appearance and presentation.
• Supervise performance of all duties and responsibilities of all evening associates.
• Use good judgement in the delegation, assignment, and follow-up required for the efficient performance of the store.
• Ensure quality conditions of all products.
• Assist in attaining financial objectives.
• Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization.
• Observe and ensure compliance with company security, safety, and food safety standards.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
