Assist the Principal with the daily operation of the schoolTransition the development of the Master Schedule from the Curriculum Director to the Assistant PrincipalOrganize, administer and/or supervise (with selected staff) all necessary school-wide testing, including but not limited to; MCAS, SAT, PSAT and AP examsOversee the department heads as they lead their respective curriculum areasAssist with the supervision of teachers and the evaluation/improvement of instructionProvide leadership and support for high school specific professional development, with current pedagogy and best practices in mindAssist in the determination of personnel needs, hiring and mentoring as neededAssign and monitor the duty assignment of teachersEnsure that all absent teachers are covered on a daily basisAssist with other special projects (i.e., data processing, school improvement plan, NEASC) and programs/events as designated by the PrincipalOther duties assigned by the PrincipalPerformance Expectations: The Assistant Principal for Academics is responsible for working closely with the Principal to help mobilize and facilitate school-wide growth and academic improvement as outlined by the Hanover High School Mission Statement and Expectations for Student Learning.
