OVERVIEW:
Harvey Performance Company has an opportunity for a self-motived, detail-oriented engineer. In this role, this individual will be responsible to influence both new and legacy product offerings, by way of partnering with commercial and technical teams focusing on innovation and growth. Requiring the ability to apply a broad range of mechanical & manufacturing engineering principles, this individual will stimulate creative technical solutions and portray market requirements to the business. This position will function as a key stakeholder to create innovative solutions to shape the Corehog brand and cutting tool industry.
POSITION DETAILS:
As a Design Engineer, you will:
- Support New Product Development initiatives including establish market requirements and create innovative tool designs.
- Manage engineering drawing database consisting of new drawing creation and legacy maintenance.
- Create product documentation including safety data sheets (SDS) and catalog information.
- Lead reverse engineering efforts of competitive tools and oversee competitive benchmark validation with cross-functional partners.
- Partner with manufacturing team to establish design for manufacturing (DFM) best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA) root cause investigation and resolution.
- Collaborate with the Harvey Customer Facing Team (CFT) to answer advanced technical inquiries pertaining to custom tooling, running parameters, and technical sales opportunities.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering related field preferred)/related industry experience.
- Basic understanding of metal working milling applications and tool geometry.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software. (AutoCAD, CATIA, Solidworks)
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
- Experience influencing and cultivating cross-functional working relationships.
