Role and Responsibilities
Regional Field Directors (RFDs) serve a vital leadership role within the program and are responsible for regional management of canvass teams. The Regional Field Director will assist in leading voter mobilization programs in support of progressive candidates and issues in the assigned region.
Recruitment, Hiring and Training
- Assist the Field organizers in all canvasser recruitment activities and ensure that recruitment goals are achieved throughout the duration of the program in the assigned region
- Implement, under the supervision of the Program Manager, the complete vetting, interviewing and hiring of all successful applicants
- Ensure the successful training and orientation of all canvassers
Canvasser Management
- Provide canvass teams with the positive leadership culture, resources, guidance and technical support required to succeed during each phase of the program while ensuring compliance with all policies and best practices
- Ensure that all canvasses are launched and completed in a timely, orderly fashion
- Promote the continued development of canvass teams in their day-to-day duties and responsibilities over the course of the program
Accountability
- Communicate all pertinent on-the-ground information to, and provide timely response to requests from, the canvassers under your direction
- Ensure that canvass teams properly perform their roles and maintain accurate and reliable data
- Provide the Canvass Director with daily quantitative and qualitative reports as part of an ongoing evaluation of the program’s success
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
A minimum of one (1) year field experience, preferably as Regional Field Director or Field Organizer
Proficiency in VAN (Voter Activation Network) or similar system(s)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Key Requirements
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with canvassers/petitioners with a wide variety of backgrounds.
Previous canvassing experience (doors, phones or both) is preferred.
Previous grassroots organizing experience or documented history of activism.
Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
Success at keeping multiple projects organized.
Proficiency in VAN, Microsoft Office Suite.
A strong commitment to progressive values, including diversity, equality for all and economic justice.
Strong communication skills.
An understanding and appreciation of the urgent nature and time demands of campaigns.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Solid leadership skills.

Be willing to support other campaign operations as necessary.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Willingness to work long hours and weekends.
A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and an ability to relocate as needed.

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
