Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Reviews all daily and monthly revenue reports and tax submissions.
Reviews all journal entries related to revenue accounting.
Reviews all account reconciliations related to revenue accounting.
Assists Controller in developing and updating policies and procedures for the revenue accounting department.
Assists Controller with responses to internal and external audit findings.
Reviews and approves all Currency Transaction Report (CTR) reports prepared by Revenue Auditor.
Performs reviews of policies, procedures and internal controls in operating departments.
Provides a great work environment for all employees.
Supports and maintains all of Hard Rock’s policies and procedures.
Hires, trains, and counsels Rockers.
Conducts reviews of Rockers that are direct reports.
Supervises the Revenue Auditors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High School diploma general education (GED). Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or minimum of five years experience in revenue accounting, internal audit or compliance.
Must have basic mathematical skills. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
Ability to use a ten key calculator by touch with considerable accuracy.
Must possess basic computer skills, including casino systems and MS applications.
Flexibility to handle changing priorities and schedules.
A Mississippi Gaming Commission work permit is required for this position.
Must have an outgoing personality and enjoy dealing with people. Interpersonal skills to maintain good relationships with operating departments.
Working knowledge of casino internal controls and systems required.
Must be very detailed oriented.
Must project a professional and positive image.
Must have a high level of energy
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal with people in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all Hard Rockers and guests.
Ability to understand and promulgate written memos, instructions, regulations.
Excellent telephone skills required.
Training
All employees are required to complete mandatory compliance training within thirty (30) days of hire date, then annually thereafter. Training marked with an asterisk below must be completed prior to reporting to their respective work area. The below courses are required for this position:
