Overview
Hargrove Engineers Constructors is seeking a Construction Materials Manager to join our onsite team in Saraland, Alabama. This position is a long-term opportunity with our onsite Team to support our client. This position requires at least 10 years with $100MM projects in a heavy industrial, fast-paced construction environment. This position will require up to 60 hrs per week. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in related field from an accredited university is preferred, but not required.
Experience: This position requires 10 or more years of relevant industrial experience in managing a construction site.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Leads, manages, and holds team accountable for ensuring inventory is received appropriately, processed in the warehouse and distributed to the customer efficiently, and inventory integrity is maintained to acceptable metrics.
• Owns the efficient management of inventory and related customer order fulfilment / delivery.
• Evaluate, design, and establish proper layout of the warehouse and product placement to ensure the environment is most conducive to optimize efficiencies while meeting all customer service levels.
• Develops and manages team to achieve KPI metrics focused on safety, quality, and productivity requirements in accordance with company needs and customer requirements.
• Optimize all resources to meet or exceed quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction metrics.
• Communicates well with leadership, team members, and other departments.
• Establishes clear and robust metrics to measure progress through process improvements for the contract crew
• Collaborates with senior management to establish both short and long-term business objectives, material availability and inventory methods as needed.
• Develop a continuous improvement plan aimed at optimizing material & business costs, reducing the overall cycle time, and maintaining the proper inventory levels Provide support to the Customer Support and Manufacturing teams to improve on-time delivery performance through effective production planning, accurate inventory tracking, effective shipping, and sound decision making.
• Responsible for the development of standardized processes within materials planning to optimize the utilization of business resources and meet customer expectations for delivery
• Responsible for the development of processes and plans to improve supply capabilities.
• Follows up with suppliers and customers, including internal partners, on discrepancies and resolves issues.
• Identifies, develops and manages strategic business relationships
• Supports operations, maintenance and customers by attending to emergencies, obtaining and providing technical information and consulting on specific questions or concerns related to materials or supplies.
