Job Description: As a Kindergarten Aide at Harmony School of Excellence - Katy, you will work closely with the kindergarten teachers to support the academic, social, and emotional development of young learners. You will assist with classroom management, small group instruction, and student supervision, helping to create a safe and engaging learning environment where all children can thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Assist kindergarten teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate activities and lessons that support the kindergarten curriculum.
- Provide support and supervision to students during classroom activities, transitions, and outdoor playtime.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts, practice skills, and provide additional support as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with students and families, and communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and behavior.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment that promotes learning and creativity.
- Assist with classroom management, behavior management, and conflict resolution strategies to support a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
- Collaborate with kindergarten teachers and other staff members to meet the diverse needs of students and support the overall goals of the kindergarten program.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to support the learning and growth of young children.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and staff.
