What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Developer position at Harris County?
The .Net Developer designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications and components. This position supports and/or installs software applications and components; works from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and maintains documentation of process flow. In addition, the incumbent will work with internal teams and internal users to design, develop and maintain software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop new applications using .Net development tools and fixing / enhancing features to current applications.
- Troubleshoot all application / web development failures throughout the organization.
- Implement application performance tuning and monitoring for all new and existing applications.
- Utilize source code management software such as Azure DevOps for source code versioning.
- Understand and participate in each phase of the project life cycle utilizing project timelines.
- Provide on call production support and training to end users and or help desk with new application launches.
- Set up meetings to discuss new development projects and or enhancements to existing applications.

- Associate Degree or certificate in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field from an accredited college, university, or technical/vocational school.
- At least two (2) years of work experience related to the duties and responsibilities of this position.

- Good understanding of creating and maintaining SSRS reports.
- Experience in designing and maintaining responsive web-based applications using ASP.Net and JavaScript.
- Experience with source code management software, such as Azure DevOps.
- Experience using Entity Framework and LINQ.
- Experience with using MS SQL Server as back-end for applications.
- Experience with writing SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
