Job Posting for Director - Plant Operations/Maintenance at Harris Regional Hospital
Directs and coordinates the operations and activities of plant/facilities engineering administration, engineering, layout, design, construction, utilities operations and maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, plant protection and security, equipment maintenance, environmental, and safety. The director has responsibility for oversight of plant operations at Harris Regional Hospital, Sylva, NC, and Swain Community Hospital, Bryson City, NC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, statues, and codes; securing all required permits; and coordinating with appropriate local authorities. Coordinates federal, state, local, and insurance licensing inspections.
Performance review includes recognition of active participation in briefs, debriefs, huddles, learning boards, and executive patient safety rounds.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Thorough working knowledge of and including: The Joint Commission Environment of Care, CMMS Operations and Installation, and all NFPA Codes.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree desired.
