Harris is currently seeking a Tax Manager in any of our office locations!
As a Tax Manager with Harris, you will be expected to learn firm policies and procedures, and be proficient in all aspects of reviewing income tax returns, including firm standard workpaper preparation, trial balance work, evaluation of general ledger account balances, and recommendation of adjusting journal entries. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing the completion of projects, signing and billing returns. You will become proficient in the use of firm standard software such as CCH Axcess, Pfx Engagement, Excel, CCH Answer Connect, and other resources. You will be responsible for training and developing firm staff and senior accountants as well as assist in firm strategic and managerial initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare federal and multi-state corporate, partnership and individual income tax returns of increasing difficulty.
Perform various tax research projects and document findings through written memorandums.
Perform bookkeeping functions for clients using QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Manage and maintain multiple client relationships, engagements and special projects, on time and on budget.
Effectively supervise, train and mentor seniors and staff.
Network and participate in business development activities for the firm.
Efficiently review engagement work papers and tax returns and provide feedback to staff.
Develop an expertise in responding to tax authority notices and client representation.
Oversee and supervise multiple engagements in progress simultaneously.
Manage client accounts including billing, fee analysis and new service development.
Provide effective feedback to mentors and supervisory, senior and staff accountants.
Meet challenging client requirements and provide exceptional service.
Consistently display excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered as a Tax Manager candidate with Harris, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
CPA certification is required.
5 years of public accounting experience.
Proficient in corporate, individual and partnership taxation.
Must be highly motivated and experienced in managing multiple client engagements.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and project management skills.
Ability to effectively communicate and develop strong relationships with clients, business partners and co-workers.
Proficient computer ability relative to administrative programs, spreadsheets, tax preparation software, trial balance software, time entry, word processing and internet research.
