What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time/Adjunct Professor Engineering & Mat position at Harrisburg University?
Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is seeking applicants for a part-time/ adjunct faculty position to teach our developmental undergraduate Mathematics courses for the upcoming Fall 2023 semester and beyond. Candidates should be dedicated to student-centered undergraduate teaching and should be committed to supporting the academic success of students from diverse backgrounds. This position requires candidates to teach basic Mathematics skills and design course materials to enhance and assess student learning. Candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are sensitive to the needs and expectations of the students. Teaching is appointed on a per semester basis and are contingent upon enrollment and needs of the university. Responsibilities include course readiness and teaching 3 to 9 credits per semester. Should be available to teach in person during the day.
Specific Developmental course needs are as follows:-
Prealgebra
College Algebra
Applied Mathematical Reasoning
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or in a related field (with 18 semester hours in Mathematics). Candidates may also possess a bachelor’s degree in Education plus a minimum of 3 years in Mathematics teaching. Previous teaching experience in Developmental Math courses preferred.
