Job Posting for Merchandise Planner at Harry & David
As a Merchandise Planner at 1800 Flower’s, you will be responsible for Demand Planning, Replenishment, Inventory Management, and Analysis by category & item. In conjunction with collaboration with cross-functional teams: Merchandising, Procurement, Operations, and Marketing to achieve sales and gross margin goals.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create Demand Forecasts, Inventory Strategies, Replenishment, and Delivery Plans by item and collaborate with Merchandising Team and vendors
Effective Inventory Management: Create item Inventory Strategies and maintain desired WOS and stock levels
Monitor available inventory position in DC’s and identify actions required to mitigate out-of-stocks/over stocks to achieve sales and gross margin goals.
Collaborate with Operations Team to optimize inventory, shipments, and service levels.
Create Hierarchy/Item Demand & Inventory Analysis and Tracking
Identify Demand & Inventory opportunities and risks by Hierarchy/Item and provide team with recommendations to achieve sales and gross margin goals
Prepare PO requisitions and coordinate with Procurement Team.
Requirements:
3-5 years’ work experience in Retail Planning, Buying, or Merchandising required
Bachelors' degree in retail, marketing or finance preferred
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Advanced business knowledge of retail and merchandising concepts
Ability to manage and train a team, fostering a high level of individual growth and contribution
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with multiple levels within organization
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment
Advanced Excel required and experience using high-end planning and operating systems.
