Summary:
The Lead MRI Technologist performs MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) exam in the hospital by selecting specific software parameters according to established protocols in order to assist the referring physician in diagnosis. The Lead MRI Tech prepares and positions patients, injects patients with contrast media, and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
This is an advanced technical position that provides clinical expertise and education to the Radiology department, to ensure that a high quality service is delivered in support of the hospital’s strategic plan, and the functions’ according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, goals and objectives. This position is mainly 90-100% clinical and provides oversights for off-shift or off-site. The Lead MRI Tech also assists with onboarding and training of new hires.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiography program.
- State of Connecticut Radiographer license.
- ARRT MRI or American Registry of Magnetic or Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT). ARRT certification in Radiography required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Previous lead/Supervisory experience highly preferred, but not required.
