Basic Purpose of the Position:
As part of a person centered care model, this role will be responsible for managing the review of clinical documentation and assists in the training of clinical staff to ensure accuracy of OASIS and reimbursement, regulatory compliance and the delivery of outcome-based, cost effective care. This role will collaborate with all team members to achieve exceptional clinical, quality and financial outcomes.
In general, most of the time will be spent in the following activities:
** Performs a software assisted record review and makes recommendations to clinician regarding data for OASIS time points to ensure OASIS reliability
** Collaborates with clinicians to ensure OASIS data accuracy as well as monitoring timeliness of clinician response.
** Provides staff guidance in making clinical and utilization management decisions that are cost effective and focused on clinical outcomes and operational performance indicators.
** Identifies OASIS accuracy trends for clinicians and teams based on record review
** Collaborates with team members to identify clinician/team trends based on the review of documentation and to develop and implement plans to address trends.
** Conducts education and training sessions related to OASIS accuracy and reimbursement.
** Demonstrates the ability to research regulations and legal requirements on OASIS and reimbursement issues and train appropriately.
** Maintains a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the clinical staff and agency.
** Will participate in committees and projects as needed
** Demonstrates the ability to work well with others and to educate clearly and concisely.
