Job Summary
The Medical Administrative Assistant is responsible for full range of administrative support in a medical office setting providing duties from scheduling appointments, calling pharmacies, billing patients and verifying precertification’s to triaging phone calls from patients, physicians and insurance companies, while maintaining patient and business confidentiality to ensure that the needs of the internal and external customers are met. Reports to assigned supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Medical Administrative Assistant certification preferred.
- One to two years’ experience in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology required.
- Basic keyboarding skills with proficiency in use of personal computer programs.
- Knowledge of medical coding preferred i.e.: CPT and ICD9 coding
- .Excellent communication skills.
