Position Description
Work independently and collaboratively with the Employer Relations Team, providing a breadth of services to encourage and support employer engagement and connection with students from Harvard College, Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, and Extension degree-granting programs. Within the larger ER team, focus on outreach to new employers in order to increase job and internship postings, maximize employer career fair participation, and otherwise . Manage logistics, operations and implement strategy for new employer outreach and development. Research and identify new employers for targeted outreach. Create and implement outreach campaigns to increase job and internship postings, career fair participation, and other engagement activities. Analyze markets to keep informed of entry-level hiring trends, including maintaining information on top internship and diversity programs, and communicate with relevant advising units.
o Draft and curate employer-related content for regular newsletters, uConnect website, and social media. Write template and ad hoc communications to continually engage target employers.
o Track and communicate success metrics. Provide data and analysis for regular and ad hoc reporting.
- Support the Employer Relations Team in other functions of employer engagement. Assist in peak Recruiting periods such as: first month of term, employer sign-ups, and employer educational programs. Collaborate with Employer Relations Team and relevant advisers on career fairs and expos. Convene necessary team members and stakeholders to distribute workload and proper support of these flagship events. Lead outreach efforts to ensure robust employer participation across desired industry areas with opportunities for multiple student populations. May manage career fair events, including venues, registration set-up, employer invites, day-of staffing and logistics, etc. Serve as Harvard representative on collaborative fairs and expos, including the Engineering Career Fair Collaborative, the Ivy Virtual Career Fair, and more. Supervise support staff and student workers. Edit and update related employer communications and automated emails Participate in full range of office-wide events including employer visits, career fairs, open houses, professional development workshops and university-wide meetings.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Additional Qualifications:: Graduate degree preferred. Employer relations experience in a university career services office strongly preferred. Ability to take initiative and work independently. Ability to remain composed during stressful periods of academic recruiting season. Strong outreach, interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills; strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, & external partners. Ability to meet stringent deadlines and develop and implement complex administrative systems. Outstanding organizational and technical skills. Experience with HTML and recruiting software platforms. Familiarity with Harvard University preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting using near vision use for reading and computer use for extended periods of time
- Lifting (approximately 20 to 30 pounds), bending, and other physical exertion

This position will be based in Cambridge, MA and requires at least 3 days in the office. Furthermore, individual flexible and remote work options for this role will be discussed during the interview process.
