Harvest Table Culinary Group at Elon University in Elon, NC, is seeking an energetic and forward-thinking Director of Operations for Elon Dining to lead our team! This key leadership position is directly responsible for leading and managing a high volume and multi-location dining service operation.
The Director of Operations partners with the local managing team to ensure our client partners, guest, and employees are engaged with service/satisfaction that both meets and exceeds stated expectations. They are responsible for all foodservice-related activities including care (retail, residential, catering etc.), quality improvement, sanitation, infection control, and all client-related activities in collaboration with the team leads.
Key Responsibilities for the Director of Operations will be:
- In operations during key times. Managing food quality and service. Working side by side with team in modeling service excellence.
- In times of great demand, assisting in preparing meals, stocking food/supplies, and cleaning is required.
- Walking from location to location across campus to check on operational excellence.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of new marketing, sustainability, and culinary concepts for residential and retail locations.
- Partner and collaborate with support team on financial and people excellence. Utilize company systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll/time-keeping, etc.
- Drive and promote service excellence through communication, engagement, and constructive feedback.
- Drive the food philosophy of Harvest Table Culinary Group and demonstrate the core values
Additional qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate to a wide range of individuals and ensure full comprehension of the topic, risk or liability level
- Will be a guest focused, innovative leader and have the ability to build and maintain strong partner relationships.
- Strong team player with good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Degree in Culinary/Foodservice Bachelors preferred.
- 5 years’ experience in food service operations
